Introduction to Floristry - The Collection

Join me at the Created by Hand gallery in the wonderful Nottinghamshire countryside. Five-day sessions, from 10 am -4 pm Mondays in March and April.

If you are passionate about flowers and want to work in the Floristry industry, this Collection is the way forward, the first step into floristry
Looking at sustainable floristry, using green floristry techniques and mechanics. Reusable vases, containers, and recyclable products too.
The Collection designs are-
a gathered hand-tied,
a wild arrangement,
a foraged wreath,
a floral crown and buttonholes
a surprise floral design.
During The Collection, you will learn:
1. Buying materials suitable for a range of design styles
2. Care and condition flowers and foliage and understand floristry sundries.
3. Understand the Elements and Principles of Design
4. Creating a selection of different styled designs – Decorative, contemporary and Natural styles.
5. Creating decorative techniques and how to incorporate accessories into your designs.
6. Produce a portfolio of your work – this is entirely up to you, I would recommend taking photos and making notes for future reference,
You will learn how and why we use the Elements and Principles of Design; with this knowledge and with continuous practice, using different materials and colours, you will eventually be able to create floristry design to a commercial standard
I recommend taking notes and photos of your designs and bringing a camera or Smartphone, notebook, and pen.
